Job summary

The Ridge Behavioral Health System in Lexington, Kentucky is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Technician to support treatment teams and patients with psychiatric and substance use needs. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Some college coursework preferred.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of emotional and mental health and disease concepts including addiction.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates group activities tailored to topic, age, and understanding as approved by Program Coordinator.
• Ensures patients are consistently monitored in the proper location for the duration of activities.
• Provides crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, using de-escalation techniques to diffuse situations.
