Job summary

Brookdale Senior Living is seeking a Memory Care Program Coordinator in Springdale to design and coordinate dementia-friendly programs for residents, ensuring alignment with BEST standards and Brookdale policies. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation, gerontology, education or related field preferred.
• Minimum two years of direct programming experience with older adults and persons with dementia preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a current 3-year driving abstract with no more than one moving violation as a condition of employment and may be required to obtain a commercial driver's license based on the needs of the community

Responsibilities

• Designs and coordinates a calendar of person-centered dementia-friendly programs for residents.
• Develops a monthly calendar in partnership with residents and ensures events are scheduled and executed.
• Ensures programs comply with BEST standards, regulatory requirements, and Brookdale policies; supports family/associate education.
• Collaborates with community leadership to educate families and associates about Alzheimer's disease and dementia care, including trainings.
• May supervise Clare Bridge Program Assistants, assist with hiring, coaching, and corrective actions; may stand in for Manager/Executive Director when needed.
• Plans and participates in special events and community outreach; manages budget and expenses for the department.
