Job summary

Brookdale Greenwood Village is seeking a Memory Care Activities Coordinator to plan and run dementia-centered programs for residents, coordinating daily activities and events in alignment with Brookdale standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related field and 2+ years of dementia programming experience, with supervision of staff and collaboration with families to enhance resident quality of life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation, gerontology, education or related field preferred.
• Minimum two years of direct programming experience with older adults and persons with dementia preferred; or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates and facilitates a calendar of person centered dementia friendly programs.
• Provides person centered programs and engages residents in meaningful dementia care activities.
• Ensures programs comply with Brookdale standards and applicable regulations.
• Collaborates with community leadership to educate families and associates about dementia care.
• Supervises Clare Bridge Program Assistants and supports hiring and coaching as needed.
• Participates in planning, decorating, and executing special events and holidays.
• Reports health changes to the clinical partner and coordinates interventions.
• Oversees social media content alignment with Brookdale culture and guidelines.
• Plans events outside the community, including driving a community vehicle.
• Manages department budget and may supervise volunteers.
