Job summary

Brookdale Southpoint is seeking a Memory Care Program Coordinator to design and lead dementia-friendly activities and resident-centered programs in a supportive memory care community. You will partner with families and staff to enhance independence and quality of life for residents living with dementia.

You’ll develop engaging calendars, oversee program staff, and ensure compliance with BEST standards while contributing to Brookdale’s mission and growth opportunities within Clare Bridge programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in therapeutic recreation, gerontology, education or related field preferred.
• Minimum two years of direct programming experience with older adults and persons with dementia preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a current 3-year driving abstract with no more than one moving violation as a condition of employment and may be required to obtain a commercial driver’s license based on the needs of the community

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates and facilitates a calendar of person centered dementia friendly programs.
• Designs engaging, 7-day-a-week programs tailored to individual residents’ needs and interests.
• Develops monthly calendars based on residents’ shared interests.
• Ensures programs comply with Brookdale standards and regulations.
• Collaborates with families and staff to educate and provide resources about Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
• Oversees program assistants and participates in hiring, coaching, and performance evaluations.
• Manages budget and may oversee volunteer programs.
• Performs related duties to ensure quality of care and programming.

Education
