Job summary

Brookdale Roanoke is seeking an Activities Coordinator for Memory Care to design and run dementia-focused programming seven days a week. The role requires enthusiasm, creativity, weekend availability, and experience with Alzheimer's/dementia.

A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, along with driving privilege and prior experience in senior living activities. You will collaborate with leadership to educate families, coordinate events, and ensure programs meet Brookdale standards

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree preferred; two years direct programming experience with older adults and dementia preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Designs a 7 day a week, person-centered program engaging residents in dementia-friendly activities.
Develops a monthly calendar with residents' interests and ensures events are scheduled and executed.
Ensures programs comply with Brookdale Excellence Standards Tool (BEST) and relevant regulations.
Collaborates with leadership to provide resources to families and associates on Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
May supervise program assistants and participate in hiring, coaching, and performance evaluations.
