Job summary

The Alden Network in Chicago, IL seeks a Memory Care Director to lead the Memory Care Program on the Memory Care Unit, focusing on holistic, person-centered care and high quality of life for residents with dementia.

Responsibilities include developing and monitoring programming, staff leadership, marketing to the community, and ensuring compliance with state and federal standards while delivering compassionate, evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four-year degree in Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Education, Social Services or equivalent, and/or be a registered nurse.
• At least one year of experience with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
• At least two years of management experience, including as an Activity Director.

Responsibilities

• Commit to growing as a leader in Alzheimer’s dementia care.
• Supervise memory care staff and coordinate with other departments.
• Develop and maintain a therapeutic, person-centered memory care program.
• Oversee pre-admission assessments and census management for the unit.
• Conduct ongoing dementia care trainings and family education.
• Develop marketing collateral and community outreach for the Memory Care Program.
