Job summary

The Alden Network in McHenry, IL seeks a compassionate Memory Care Nurse to support a holistic, therapeutic, person-centered dementia care program on the Memory Care Unit. You will work to achieve high quality of life for residents with dementia.

Responsibilities include supervising Memory Care Aides and CNAs, aiding ADL care, coordinating memory care activities, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to meet policy standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic, person-centered dementia care on the Memory Care Unit.
• Supervise Memory Care Aides and CNAs, including coordination of ADL care and activities.
• Assist with transportation and non-scheduled activities by staff.
• Maintain knowledge of residents' backgrounds, care needs and preferences.
• Utilize communication devices and language services to ensure effective resident communication.
• Support an individualized, non-pharmacological memory care activity program.
• Encourage family involvement through volunteering and visitation.
• Provide a clean, safe, non-hazardous unit for residents and staff.
• Complete required documentation and maintain program policies.
• Provide feedback to Memory Care Director and adapt to residents' changing needs.
