Job summary

Avamere Waterford in Medford, OR is seeking a dedicated Medication Technician to administer medications and provide direct care to residents in a memory care/assisted living setting.

You will record administrations, monitor for side effects, and coordinate with nursing staff to ensure accurate treatment plans. CPR/First Aid may be required, and the role offers full-time hours with benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience as a caregiver and medication technician in memory care or assisted living.
• Must obtain CPR/First Aid certification during employment.
• Ability to obtain Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience documenting in electronic medical records.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications according to physician orders and facility policy.
• Maintain a clean, organized medication cart and room.
• Record medications administered in resident records.
• Notify pharmacy when refills are needed; inform families when applicable.
• Monitor and report medication side effects to the Director of Health Services.
• Follow care plans and document status changes in EMR.
• Assist with medical appointments and communicate with healthcare providers.
• Observe residents for health changes and monitor vital signs.
