Job summary

Avamere Skilled Advisors, LLC d/b/a Avamere Living is seeking a PRN Medication Technician for the Medford, Oregon facility. Responsibilities include passing medications, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with health professionals to support resident care.

The role requires prior caregiver and medication tech experience in memory care or assisted living, plus CPR/First Aid certification and EMR documentation experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Experience as caregiver and medication tech in memory care or assisted living.
• CPR/First Aid certification obtained during employment.
• Food handler's card required.
• Experience documenting in electronic medical records.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications according to physician orders and facility policy.
• Administer medications accurately and timely.
• Record medications administered in the resident's record.
• Notify pharmacy when medications need refilling.
• Maintain a clean and organized medication cart and room.
• Monitor and report adverse medication effects to the Director of Health Services.
• Record shift information to support changes to medication orders.
• Follow care plans for medication administration based on residents' needs.
• Assist with medical appointments and advocate for residents.
• Observe residents for health changes and monitor vital signs.
• Document status changes in the electronic medical record.
• Complete accident and incident reports promptly as required.
• Perform delegated nursing tasks as assigned by the RN.
• Participate in in-service education programs as assigned.
• Report changes in resident conditions promptly to the Director of Health Services.
• Follow written and oral directions and work professionally.
• Ensure resident safety under supervision.
• Collaborate with residents, nursing staff, physicians, families and other providers.
• Assist new employees in following facility policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information.
