Job summary

Senior Lifestyle is seeking a dedicated Medication Technician to safely manage prescribed medications for Memory Care residents and provide essential nursing care. You will perform MAR/TAR-based dosing, monitor stock, and ensure accurate documentation, while adhering to state regulations and company guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• 1+ months of experience
• Senior Living experience preferred
• Current Medication Technician certification depending on state regulations
• English proficiency to perform job duties

Responsibilities

• Supervise self-administered meds in Memory Care per MAR/TAR and guidelines.
• Count and sign narcotics with approved personnel before meds keys.
• Order meds from pharmacy or notify responsible party when supply is <7 days.
• Notify supervisor when stock <2 days and not received.
• Verify medicines against MAR; report discrepancies to pharmacy/DH&W.
• Store meds properly; separate from oral meds; date vials on opening.
• Weekly med cart inspections; remove expired meds.
• Compare current MARs at changes; report discrepancies.
• Remove discontinued meds from med cart; hand to supervisor.
• Provide personal care: bathing, grooming, feeding, etc.
• Provide basic nursing care: vitals, temp, BP, weight.
• Document in daily log; inform supervisor of concerns.
• Answer calls and assist residents as needed.
• Daily/weekly cleaning of med carts; restocking.
• Attend staff training/in-services; maintain records.
