Job summary

Senior Lifestyle Corporation in Albuquerque is seeking a Medication Technician to safely administer prescribed medications and provide nursing care in memory care. You will monitor MAR/TAR, assist with ADLs, meals, and activities, and maintain accurate records under Federal and State regulations.

A high school diploma or GED and current state certification are required. Strong interpersonal and time-management skills, proficiency in basic computer programs, and English communication are

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent
• 1+ month of experience in senior living preferred
• Current Medication Technician certification per state regulations
• Able to communicate in English with staff and respond to emergencies
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervision of self-administered medications in Memory Care per Federal & State regulations and company guidelines
• Count and sign narcotics with approved personnel before medication keys, report discrepancies
• Order medications and treatments from pharmacy or notify if supply will fall below 7 days
• Notify supervisor if supply is less than 2 days and not received
• Receive and verify medication against MAR; report discrepancies to pharmacy/DH&W
• Properly store medications, keep lotions and liquids separate from oral meds
• Date vials at opening and follow pharmacy protocol for usage duration
• Conduct weekly medication inspections and remove expired meds
• Verify current MARs against new MARs at changes; report discrepancies
• Remove discontinued meds from med cart and hand to supervisor
• Provide personal care (bathing, grooming, incontinence care, etc.) and general nursing care (vital signs, temps, BP, weights)
• Document information in daily log and notify supervisor of concerns
• Answer calls and assist residents as needed
• Clean and restock medicine carts daily; perform weekly deep cleaning
• Attend staff trainings and in-services
• Maintain complete medical charts within 48 hours per policy and regulatory guidelines
