Job summary

Senior Lifestyle in York, ME is seeking a Medication Technician to ensure safe administration of prescribed meds and treatments per MAR/TAR, provide personal care, and support ADLs, dining, and activities for memory care residents.

You will work 2:30PM-11:00PM or 10:30PM-7:00AM, supervise self-administered meds, maintain accurate records, stock medications, and collaborate with LPN/LVN/RN and Health & Wellness leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1+ months of experience
• Senior Living experience preferred
• Current Medication Technician certification depending on state regulations

Responsibilities

• Supervise self-administered medications in Memory Care per MAR/TAR and regulations.
• Count and log narcotics with authorized personnel before medication keys.
• Order medications and notify if supply falls below 7 days.
• Notify supervisor if supply is <2 days without receipt.
• Verify medications match MAR; report discrepancies to pharmacy/DH&W.
• Store medications properly; separate from oral meds; label refusals.
• Date vials/bottles at opening per pharmacy protocol.
• Weekly inspections to remove expired meds.
• Overlap MARs during changeover and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Remove discontinued meds from med cart and hand to supervisor.
• Provide personal care (bathing, grooming, etc.) and general nursing tasks.
• Record vitals and other data; document in daily log.
• Answer calls and assist residents with needs.
• Clean med carts daily and restock; perform weekly deep clean.
• Attend staff trainings and in-services; maintain medical charts within 48 hours.
