Job summary

Castlehcc is seeking an Activities Assistant/Aide in a long-term care setting. You will help plan and evaluate activity programs, monitor resident engagement, and support daily living activities to enhance physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities include preparing activity spaces, coordinating with staff, and maintaining confidentiality while delivering compassionate care. A patient and cheerful demeanor is essential to interact with residents of varying abilities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
• Demonstrates patience, tact, cheerfulness and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating activity programs.
• Observe resident mood, attendance and involvement; document progress.
• Prepare activity spaces and procure supplies as needed.
• Follow care plans when providing daily activities for residents.
• Support residents during activities and assist with crafts or projects.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and respect dignity.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure activities run smoothly.
• Assist in routine tasks such as writing letters and running errands for residents.
