Job summary

The Memory Care Director at Oakmont Management Group leads a ‘Whole living’ approach to dementia care in their community, partnering with residents to care ‘with them’ rather than ‘for them’ to help each resident reach their highest potential and live with dignity.

The director provides oversight of the Traditions memory care neighborhood, ensuring care, activities, and dining exceed expectations and align with each resident’s service plan, in collaboration with culinary and health services.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
• Prefer two (2) years of dementia care experience.
• Prefer one (1) year supervising employees.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Gerontology, psychology, sociology, or related field.
• Residential Care Facility administrator license may be required.
• Hold or obtain certifications related to dementia care (CDP, CAC, CAE, CDCM, etc.).
• Able to obtain CPR, First Aid, Food Handler certifications.
• Must pass background check and health screenings.
• Vaccination/testing as per regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment following safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations for memory care (Title 22).
• Recruit memory care staff; conduct interviews, hires, onboard, trains, and retains team members.
• Coordinate departmental schedules to ensure adequate staffing.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Support resident participation in activities and dining; coordinate with Culinary team.
• Provide input to Health Services Director on memory care assessments.
• Coordinate incidental medical, dental, vision, and podiatry care with health staff.
• Partner with healthcare professionals and state agencies as needed.
