Job summary

The Memory Care Director at Oakmont Senior Living leads a comprehensive dementia care program across our community, delivering person-centered care and engaging residents with meaningful activities.

You will oversee care delivery, activities, and culinary coordination, ensuring compliance with state regulations and service plans, while guiding a skilled team toward exceptional resident well-being and independence.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
• Prefer two (2) years of experience working with persons with dementia and one (1) year supervising staff.
• Preferred BA/S in Gerontology, psychology, sociology, or related field or at least 3 years working in social services or residential care.
• Residential Care Facility Administrator license may be required.
• Able to obtain and maintain first aid and CPR certification.
• Criminal background check and health screening including TB tests required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure environment following safety standards.
• Ensures compliance with state regulations concerning memory care (Title 22).
• Manages recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, motivation, and retention of memory care staff.
• Coordinates departmental scheduling to ensure adequate staffing.
• Communicates effectively with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
• Supports resident participation in activities and dining, ensuring nutrition needs are met.
• Collaborates with Health Services Director on care plans and assessments.
• Coordinates incidental medical, dental, vision, hearing, and podiatry care as needed.
• Partners with physicians, discharge planners, nurses, and state agencies as needed.
