Job summary

Oakmont Management Group, based in Irvine, California, seeks a Memory Care Director to lead the Traditions neighborhood with a person-centered dementia care approach and to ensure high-quality services for residents.

You will oversee dementia care operations, activities, and dining, collaborating with culinary and health services to develop personalized care plans that promote independence and well-being across the community.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
• Prefer two (2) years of experience working with persons with dementia.
• Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees.
• Preferred BA/S in Gerontology, psychology, sociology, or related field or at least 3 years working in social services, residential care, psychiatric facility, or related setting.
• Residential Care Facility for the Elderly administrators’ license may be required.
• Hold or able to obtain one or more certifications related to Dementia care; such as CDP, CAC, CAE, CDCM, Montessori Dementia Care Professional, or equivalents.
• Able to obtain and maintain valid first aid and CPR certification.
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler’s certification.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
• Vaccination/testing requirements per regulatory guidelines may apply to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure environment following safety standards.
• Ensures compliance with state regulations concerning memory care (Title 22).
• Oversees recruitment for memory care positions; interviews, hires, onboards, trains, motivates, and retains staff.
• Coordinates scheduling to ensure adequate staffing per standards and resident needs.
• Communicates effectively with residents, families, visitors, co-workers and supervisors.
• Supports resident participation in activities and ensures an engaging daily program.
• Supports dining experiences and collaborates with Culinary for resident nutrition.
• Coordinates with Health Services Director on pre-admission assessments and reassessments.
• Assists in coordinating incidental medical and related care; arranges escorts as needed.
• Partners with healthcare professionals and agencies on resident care needs.
