Job summary

Atria Senior Living seeks a Life Guidance Director in Malden, MA to implement the company’s dementia-focused philosophy across the Life Guidance neighborhood. You’ll lead clinical and non-clinical staff, organize daily programs, and ensure seamless operations around the clock.

Responsibilities include supervising LG staff, coordinating onboarding, and managing the program budget while partnering with Sales, Engage Life, and Culinary Services to enhance resident experiences.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services, Behavioral Health, Therapeutic Recreation, Nursing, or related field.
• 2–4 years of dementia care experience and developing activity programs, preferably as a manager with a specialized dementia program.
• Knowledgeable about dementia progression, impact on function, and adaptive activity strategies.
• Experience facilitating family and caregiver support programs.
• Experience performing budget analysis, review, and staff supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication; proficient with computers and virtual meetings.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and driving willingness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive and energetic environment for residents with dementia.
• Supervise Life Guidance staff, including scheduling, performance reviews, and hiring.
• Organize daily Life Guidance programs and 24/7 schedule coordination in the community.
• Ensure New Hire Orientation is completed for Life Guidance staff.
• Lead staff training and dementia in-services; track and report training completion.
• Build relationships with new residents using onboarding tools and assessments.
• Manage the Life Guidance budget with the virtual checkbook.
• Support resident families and caregivers and promote referrals.
• Collaborate with Engage Life on community-wide programming.
• Partner with Residents Services Director and Culinary Services on daily operations.
• Provide ADL support as needed and participate in director meetings.
