Job summary

Atria Senior Living seeks a dedicated Life Guidance Specialist to lead and develop activity programs for residents. The role includes planning diverse recreational activities with supervision and ensuring activities of daily living are well integrated into daily schedules.

The position emphasizes engaging residents, organizing birthday celebrations, and coordinating with Life Guidance staff to implement comprehensive daily programs. Certification and scheduling flexibility are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–2 years prior experience with an adult population developing and implementing activities.
• Working knowledge of recreational therapy or activity programming and their application to residents’ activity and leisure needs.
• State regulation-based certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Leads assigned Life Guidance programs and develops service plans.
• Offers adequate and diversified recreational activities with supervision.
• Involves Life Guidance staff in planning daily programs including activities of daily living.
• Plans individual birthday celebrations for each resident.
• Develops programs for residents including for those confined to their rooms.
• Engages and motivates residents to participate in programs.
• Greets new residents and integrates them into activities.
• Assists in planning parties, decorating, and monthly birthday celebrations.
• Supports census-building initiatives.
• Maintains records of activities and participation as required by state law.
• Enlists volunteers to aid the activities program.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
