Job summary

Atria Senior Living, Inc. is seeking a Life Guidance position to lead activity programs and develop service plans for residents. You will supervise diverse recreational activities, involve staff in daily programming, and plan celebrations and events to enhance resident well-being.

The role requires organizing activities for residents with varying needs, including those who are home-bound, and maintaining accurate participation records. Flexibility in scheduling is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–2 years prior experience with an adult population developing and implementing activities.
• Working knowledge of recreational therapy methods and their application to activity programming for residents with Alzheimer’s/Dementia.
• Required certifications based on current state regulations.
• Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Leads Life Guidance programs and develops service plans.
• Offers diversified recreational activities with supervision for each activity.
• Involves Life Guidance staff in planning daily programs including activities of daily living.
• Plans individual birthday celebrations for residents.
• Develops programs including for residents confined to their rooms.
• Engages residents to motivate participation in activities.
• Greets new residents and helps integrate them into the community.
• Assists in planning and decorating for events and monthly celebrations.
• Supports census-building initiatives.
• Maintains records of activities and resident participation per state law.
• Assists in enlisting volunteers for activities.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
