Job summary

Senior Lifestyle in Oak Brook, IL is seeking a compassionate Memory Care Companion to provide kind, consistent support to residents in the Memory Care Program, helping with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding and mobility, and leading one-on-one and group activities.

You will assist during mealtime, help with memory care laundry and light housekeeping, and ensure resident and family concerns are addressed promptly with a friendly, professional

Qualifications

• Experience working with seniors with dementia including participation in activities is preferred.
• Acceptable proficiency in English to perform job duties and emergencies.
• You may need a CNA or CHHA license depending on the state.
• Basic computer skills; proficiency with Outlook, Excel and Word is required.
• Compassionate, kind, engaging and helpful.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables with limited standardization.
• Maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward residents and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Provide kind, caring, and consistent companionship and support to residents.
• Assist Memory Care residents with activities of daily living to promote independence.
• Participate in and lead one-on-one and group activities.
• Serve residents during mealtime, assist with memory care laundry, and light housekeeping.
• Address resident/family/employee concerns promptly to maintain satisfaction.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors and co-workers.
