Job summary

AuthentiCare Health Centers is seeking an Activities Director for our skilled nursing facility in Massachusetts. You will lead activity programs that enhance residents' physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being and supervise activities staff and volunteers.

The role emphasizes planning, coordination, and creativity to deliver engaging programs tailored to residents in long-term and memory care settings. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in recreational therapy or similar degree is required.
• At least 2 years of experience in Activities/Recreation in long-term care or other healthcare setting.
• Management experience is a plus.
• Creativity, organizational skills, and a cheerful personality are essential.
• Experience with Alzheimer's/Dementia is a plus.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
• Strong communication with patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop activities suitable and enjoyable for residents.
• Manage attendance, safety guidelines, and incidents.
• Oversee Activities Assistants and volunteers to maintain the activities calendar.
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate activity programs.
• Develop monthly program calendar.
• Create written activity plans for each resident.
• Participate in discharge planning and activity care plans.
• Implement activity procedures as directed by the Director.
• Schedule programs and plan events for residents.
• Encourage participation in activities of daily living.
