Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Spartanburg is seeking a friendly Membership Representative to welcome members and guests, respond to member needs, and promote memberships and programs. You will conduct tours for prospective members, maintain a positive lobby environment, handle inquiries, and help build connections within the Y community.

This part-time role requires customer service or sales experience, CPR/AED and First Aid certifications within 90 days, strong communication, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Must be a team player.
• Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Responds to the individual needs of members and guests and promotes memberships.
• Provides excellent service and keeps the lobby area clean and organized.
• Conducts interviews and/or tours and sells memberships.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with volunteers and members.
• Welcomes and connects members to programs and opportunities to get involved.
• Handles membership concerns and informs supervisor of issues.
• Follows all YMCA policies related to member services.
• May hand out locker keys and towels; may monitor locker rooms as required.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
