Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Spartanburg is seeking a Membership Representative to welcome members and visitors, respond to needs, and promote memberships and programs at the front desk and lobby.

You will conduct tours, build relationships with members and help connect people to Y programs while upholding YMCA policies. CPR/AED and First Aid certifications must be completed within 90 days of hire; strong communication and computer basics are required.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or sales experience.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments.
• Must be a team player.
• Basic knowledge of computers and software tools.

Responsibilities

• Responds to member and guest needs and promotes memberships and programs.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.
• conducts interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with volunteers and members and helps members connect with one another and the Y.
• Serves others by welcoming, connecting, and supporting members, and inviting them to get involved.
• Handles and resolves membership concerns; informs supervisor of issues.
• Applies YMCA policies regarding member services.
• May hand out locker keys and towels; may monitor locker rooms.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
