Job summary

Alleghany Family YMCA is seeking a part-time Member Experience Representative in Sparta, NC. The role focuses on increasing membership engagement, growth and retention, delivering excellent service to members and guests, and assisting with orientation and onboarding for new members.

You will greet and assist members, conduct tours, process ID cards, and handle inquiries while maintaining YMCA values. Evening and weekend availability is preferred, with CPR/First Aid/AED certification required or

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
• Computer skills and ability to learn related programs for membership administration
• Excellent customer service skills required
• Strong verbal communication and an outgoing personality are essential
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
• Bilingual skills preferred, depending on candidate pool

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist members, potential members and staff in a professional, friendly manner
• Conduct tours for prospective members and explain benefits, YMCA mission, volunteer opportunities and financial assistance
• Process new member ID cards, issue guest passes and register members for services
• Respond to phone inquiries and use YMCA best practices
• Coordinate with wellness staff to schedule new member onboarding sessions
• Address complaints promptly and professionally and escalate unresolved issues as needed
• Support annual campaigns and participate in program promotion as appropriate
