Job summary

Empower FCU in Syracuse is seeking a Teller to be the frontline representative handling member transactions and banking needs with accuracy and compliance.

You will promote products and services, cross-sell with partner offers, and collaborate with teammates to support branch goals while upholding the credit union’s trusted reputation.

The role requires 1–3 years in banking or cash handling, a high school diploma or GED, and ability to work flexible hours including Saturdays.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of related experience in banking, customer service, sales, or cash handling.
• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Welcome members and process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments with accuracy.
• Maintain cash drawer and balance as required by policy and audits.
• Educate members about Credit Union products and services, cross-selling where appropriate.
• Demonstrate leadership and foster teamwork and inclusive workplace culture.
• Ensure compliance with policies, dual control, cash handling, and Code of Conduct.
• Stay informed on policy updates and participate in branch communications.
• Be available for flexible hours, including Saturdays, and at different branch locations.
