Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend detailed instructions, perform math operations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Experience operating an online teller terminal and basic office equipment.
• Knowledge of banking products, services, and procedures to process transactions.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Analytical ability to research and resolve member issues and posting errors.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interactions with a diverse member and employee group.

Responsibilities

• Assist members in person, via drive-ups, and by telephone using an online teller terminal to process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, check cashing, coin processing, and account information.
• Process special member requests such as account research, stop payments, direct deposits, ACH, payroll deduction, wire transfers, and safe deposit boxes.
• Build financial relationships with members using a consultative approach and refer to other representatives when appropriate.
• Educate members about Home Banking, E-Services, and other products; promote Credit Union services based on members' needs.
• Balance cash drawer and daily transactions; identify and communicate errors to affected members.
• Open and close the branch following procedures and policies.
• Perform miscellaneous duties (mail transactions, night deposits, verifications, filing, updates).
• Stay current on procedures and policies by reading bulletins and attending staff meetings.
• May take on extra branch duties such as safe deposit box billing, vault balancing, supplies, coin shipments.
• May assist other departments/branches when needed and train new employees.
• May cross-train in Teller Supervisor functions and Member Services; provide back-up as needed.
