Job summary

GNWFCU is seeking a frontline Teller role in Port Angeles, WA to perform routine member transactions and provide exceptional service. The position requires accuracy, cash handling skills, and knowledge of credit union products.

Responsibilities include processing deposits/withdrawals, guiding members on accounts, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations. The role involves standing during shifts and occasional lifting of light items while engaging with customers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; active pursuit of diploma/GED acceptable.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with the public in a sometimes stressful environment.
• Experience in sales, customer/service, cash handling, and math/business aptitude.
• GNWFCU employees must be mobile and able to work in a standard office setting.
• Ability to use standard office equipment including software and technology-based services: video, chat, ITMs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine member transactions: deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers, and check cashing.
• Provide outstanding member service and satisfaction.
• Process payments for mortgage and other loans; ensure accuracy and collect late charges when applicable.
• Verify endorsements and negotiability on checks.
• Maintain accurate cash drawer and balance in a timely manner.
• Provide routine information on credit union products, services, and policies.
• Respond to member requests, problems, or direct to the proper person for assistance.
• Record and route information pertaining to members’ accounts to proper departments.
• Process stop payments on share draft accounts and ACH deposits.
• Provide current account balances and loan payoffs to members.
• Possibly handle combinations & keys (night drop, ATM, vault).
• Maintain accurate records and complete tasks promptly.
• Participate in internal training via online courses.
• Comply with Bank Secrecy Act/AML/OFAC and other compliance policies.
• Address all other duties as assigned.
• Assist with inquiries about eligibility for memberships and account types.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all member interactions.
• Support branch operations and contribute to branch goals.
