Job summary

University of Nebraska Federal Credit Union is seeking a lending-focused professional to interview applicants, analyze financial positions, and approve or forward loan requests within policy. You will also help on the teller line and represent NUFCU at community events.

You will maintain current knowledge of consumer credit laws and regulations while delivering friendly, professional service and cross-selling opportunities to members.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of lending, credit union, banking, or related financial services experience.
• A two-year degree, relevant certification or license, vendor-led specialized training, or an apprenticeship.
• Comfort with confidential conversations and diplomacy in resolution of issues.

Responsibilities

• Interview loan applicants to understand needs, income, and financial condition and explain loan programs.
• Assess credit risk and approve, deny, or forward for higher-level decision.
• Underwrite loans for Member Service Representatives.
• Establish terms and conditions and review with the member.
• Prepare and review loan documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Handle changes on existing loans (collateral releases, term changes, payment waivers).
• Assist with delinquency control and collections activity.
• Help members with savings, certificates, IRAs, checking, and other credit union products.
