Job summary

Self-Help in Manchester, CT is seeking a Member Service Representative to join our team. The role involves handling member transactions, opening accounts, promoting credit union products, and maintaining strong member relationships with accuracy and compliance.

The ideal candidate has cash handling experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to our mission of economic justice. Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred and occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience in financial institution or customer service.
• Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess member needs and initiate conversations.
• Maintain and enhance member account relationships with excellent service.
• Process deposits, loan payments, payrolls and transfers accurately.
• Disburse cash and handle withdrawals within guidelines.
• Open new membership accounts with accuracy and compliance.
• Promote credit union products and services.
• Maintain knowledge of loans to refer to appropriate departments.
• Observe security controls and detect fraud or forged documents.
• Support branch growth goals and assist with translations if needed.
