Self-Help Credit Union is seeking a Member Service Representative to join our team in the United States. You will initiate member conversations, handle deposits and transfers, while delivering exceptional service and ensuring accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• 1+ year in financial or customer service industry preferred.
• Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.
• Teamwork and collaboration are valued.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Able to learn and operate credit union systems, including New Solutions and Microsoft Office.
• Flexible hours including evenings and weekends; travel may be required.
• Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead conversations to identify and assess member needs.
• Maintain and enhance member account relationships by providing excellent member service.
• Process share deposits, loan payments, payrolls, and account transfers.
• Disburse cash and check withdrawals.
• Complete member transactions accurately within guidelines or seek approval for exceptions.
• Open new membership accounts and ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Research and address member inquiries about credit union services and accounts.
• Perform account maintenance as authorized.
• Promote credit union products and services.
• Refer loan products to appropriate departments and perform outbound calls as needed.
• Achieve individual and branch growth goals.
• Identify solutions to support member needs.
• Observe security/internal controls and help prevent fraudulent activity.
• Serve as back up to MSR II responsibilities.
• Travel to local events as needed, weekends may be required.
