Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1–2 years related office and customer service experience.
• Excellent problem solving, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency with personal computers and ability to compile spreadsheets, documents and forms.
• Experience with data access using computerized records systems and cashiering.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills for in-person, phone, and written interactions.
• Willingness to work after hours in rare mass power outage events.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line customer service in person and by phone; refer guests to appropriate staff.
• Receive and process all forms of payment and handle cash; prepare deposits.
• Explain, interpret, and apply department standards, policies, and criteria to customers.
• Maintain knowledge of billing, collections, and disconnects for non-payment of bills.
• Fill out forms, determine charges, collect deposits, and issue service/orders via software.
• Interact courteously with customers; resolve issues and refer others as needed.
• Responsible for billing functions and accuracy of customer accounts.
• Learn rate schedules and billing processes; answer billing questions.
• Prepare internal reports on billing and customer accounts.
• Handle related tasks: phones, refunds, reporting, reception, and resources.
• May undertake special projects and other duties as assigned.
