Job summary

Liberty FCU in Evansville, IN is seeking a Member Service Representative/Teller to handle a variety of member transactions with accuracy and courtesy. You will learn products and services to better assist members and balance cash drawers daily.

This full-time position requires a flexible schedule including Saturdays, with opportunities for cross-selling and contributing to branch goals. Banking experience is preferred, and confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED and be at least 18 years of age.
• 1-2 years of cash handling experience.
• Banking experience preferred.
• Flexible schedule and ability to travel to other office locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary Member Service Representative (MSR) handling deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers and more with accuracy.
• Greet members and provide friendly, professional service and information on products/services.
• Balance cash drawer daily and strive to meet cross-sell goals while supporting branch initiatives.
• Assist with night drop, balancing branch cash machines, safe deposit access, and answering inquiries.

Liberty FCU, a full-service credit union, is currently seeking an energetic Member Service Representative/Teller to be a part of the credit union team at one of our local branches. Candidates must possess excellent member service skills, professionalism, and confidentiality. Most offices operate Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Friday 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., and Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 12 p.m. Candidates for full-time positions must be available to work 40 hours per week including rotating Saturdays. Candidates for part-time positions must be available to work 28 hours per week including Saturdays on a rotating basis.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Serve as a primary Member Service Representative (MSR).
  • Meet member needs by maintaining appropriate knowledge of all company products and services.
  • Run various member transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, credit card payments, transfers, and shared branching transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Determine acceptability of negotiable items and place holds on deposited funds when appropriate.
  • Learn to identify potential fraud situations and take appropriate action to help protect the member and the Credit Union.
  • Learn to recognize member’s needs and recommend appropriate products and services while providing quality member service.
  • Strive to balance cash drawer each day.
  • Strive to meet MSR cross sell goals and work to support all branch goals and initiatives.
  • Assist with processing night drop.
  • Assist in balancing branch cash machines.
  • Assist members in accessing safe deposit boxes.
  • Answer member telephone inquiries.
• Represent the Credit Union to the members in a friendly, positive, and professional manner greeting members as they enter the branch.
• Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of company policies and procedures related to the MSR duties, including security and information security.
• Complete all required compliance training.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and security when dealing with member information and agree to shred all papers with confidential information.
• Prepare all daily work items for transfer to the appropriate departments.

Qualifications:

• Must have a HS diploma or GED and be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule and travel to other office locations when needed.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and do some heavy lifting.
• Must have 1-2 years of cash handling experience.
• Banking experience preferred.
