Job summary

Valley Credit Union seeks a Loan Specialist to evaluate, approve, and aggressively pursue consumer loans while delivering outstanding member service. You will manage a personal loan portfolio, stay compliant with lending policies, and collaborate with the Lending Center team to meet credit union goals.

The ideal candidate will excel in relationship-building, cross-selling opportunities, and proactive communication with members and coworkers.

Qualifications

• Sales experience required to meet lending goals and cross-sell products.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a high-volume environment.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and general computer skills.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional service to members and meet lending needs.
• Develop and manage a personal loan portfolio.
• Maintain knowledge of Valley’s lending policies and regulatory requirements.
• Drive loan approvals within policy and cross-sell related products.
• Communicate effectively with members, processors, and colleagues.
• Meet monthly loan goals and support the Indirect Department as needed.
