USC Credit Union is seeking an experienced Consumer Lending Specialist to originate loans for credit union members while building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service. You will gather and analyze member data to offer customized solutions and improve members' financial well-being.

The role involves handling loan applications, explaining rates and terms, and recommending appropriate products to meet members' needs in a compliant, sales-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1+ year of customer service, sales, retail banking, or financial services experience; 3+ years preferred.
• Consumer lending knowledge and strong communication, relationship-building, multitasking, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, Slack, and similar tools.
• Understanding of key banking regulations, including BSA, Regulation E, and GLBA.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with submission of credit card and unsecured loan applications. Interview loan applicants and provide recommendations.
• Discuss key financing aspects (rates, terms, payments).
• Provide information on insurance programs and loan coverage options.
• Assist with memberships and additional deposit products; review memberships and consumer information from reporting agencies; complete account opening.
• Use credit scoring and prudent lending practices to make recommendations.
• Fund consumer loans per guidelines and explore lending alternatives with members.
