Job summary

Mainstreet Credit Union in Kansas City is seeking a dynamic Member Development Officer to grow our member base and expand market presence. You will engage with members in-branch and through outreach, guiding financial choices and assisting with accounts, loans, and daily transactions.

The role emphasizes personalized service, cross-team collaboration, and proactive relationship management to drive membership growth and brand awareness in the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration preferred.
• Three years of financial institution, sales or advising experience required.
• One to three years of consumer lending experience in a financial institution required.
• Completion of Mainstreet Credit Union’s lending training program(s) preferred; internal candidates may be considered.
• FiCEP/NMLS registration or ability to obtain within 12 months; strong compliance mindset.

Responsibilities

• Establish and grow member base and market awareness around the assigned branch.
• Conduct consultative meetings to assess financial goals and recommend products and services.
• Support local market outreach; build relationships with local businesses and events.
• Maintain proactive member communication via outbound calls, emails, onboarding and follow-ups.
• Assist members with account openings and various financial services.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and credit union policies.
