Job summary

Excel Fitness in Virginia Beach is seeking a dedicated Team Player to help maintain a premier club environment. You will assist members, manage front-desk tasks, and support operations, ensuring safety and smooth daily activities.

You will balance cash, input member data, and stay current with the Planet Fitness app and brand standards while promoting a welcoming, energetic atmosphere for all members. Training, CPR/AED certification, and flexibility are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR Certification and AED Certification are required before working alone. Training will be provided within 30 days for uncertified hires.
• Comfortable standing for long periods.
• Excellent communication with internal and external customers.
• Team-oriented, motivated and well-organized.
• Ability to think critically and evaluate solutions proactively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer use.
• Able to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Familiar with Excel’s mission, values, and Planet Fitness brand and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform to your best abilities during your assigned work shift.
• Monitor and maintain club cleanliness and atmosphere.
• Stay proficient in Planet Fitness mobile app use, content, and updates.
• Ensure training to operate safely and efficiently.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure the club is presentable and up to Excel standards.
• Perform club walkarounds and complete assigned cleaning or tasks.
• Audit and balance cash drawers daily.
• Input and update member information into tablets and POS.
• Ensure members adhere to company policies and guidelines.
• Provide a safe and secure environment for all members.
• Communicate with members and deliver high level service.
• Stock retail and janitorial items for the shift.
• Understand and adhere to company standards and resolve issues.
• Audit club inventory and coordinate with GM/AM/Shift Lead on orders.
• Stay updated on required certifications and training.
• Participate in team meetings.
• Promote, tour, and assist prospects and potential members.
• Assist GM and AM with membership promotions and operational strategies.
• Ensure compliance with laws and insurance requirements.
• Operate equipment including tanning, HydroMassage, and Total Body Enhancement; assist members as needed.
