Job summary

YMCA of Springfield is seeking a Member Service Associate to serve as a friendly, sales‑oriented front desk leader. You will handle memberships, assist members with reservations, and maintain accurate records while supporting safety and emergencies as needed.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and a detail‑oriented approach in a fast-paced environment; responsibilities include cash handling, coffee service, and facility opening/closing.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 years.
• Highschool Diploma / GED required; College Degree preferred.
• Proven customer service excellence in a similar industry.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Must have sense for detail.
• Experience in office processes and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Sells Memberships and Programs.
• Contributes to member retention.
• Proficient with computer software and can locate information.
• Responds to emergencies and follows safety procedures.
• Oversees multiple duties: maintain a clean workspace, handle cash transactions, open/close the facility, assist members with scheduling, issue and track equipment/keys, maintain membership records, prepare coffee service.
