Job summary

YMCA in Wichita, KS is seeking a Membership Service Associate to provide excellent customer service with knowledge of programs and services, contributing to retention and satisfaction.

Under the direction of the Membership/Senior Program Director, duties include selling programs, handling cash, attending orientation, completing CPR/First Aid, and maintaining a clean, friendly facility while engaging with diverse members.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 20
• Minimum of one year experience in customer service and cash handling
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have completed all COE for this position

Responsibilities

• Providing excellent service by having a great knowledge of YMCA programs, services and systems.
• Effectively communicating the mission, vision and values of the YMCA.
• Responsible for following directions, being flexible and exhibiting friendly demeanor while working with people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Maintaining a safe and clean facility at all times.
• Providing excellent customer service through the following: greeting program participants and members by name; handling questions in a courteous, professional manner; gathering feedback to improve service.
• Membership retention: selling the YMCA’s value and enforcing policies to ensure a safe environment.
• Being mindful of the YMCA’s impact on members and the community; understanding financial procedures and opening/closing procedures; emergency procedures training.
• Attending mandatory staff meetings and trainings; providing feedback to improve services; performing custodial duties as needed; supporting community campaigns.
