Job summary

Heart of the Valley YMCA in Madison, AL is seeking Welcome Center Staff to provide an exceptional, welcoming experience for members and guests. You will learn member needs, connect them to YMCA programs, and explain membership options and financial assistance as part of everyday interactions.

You will conduct tours for prospective members, promote the Annual Campaign, and ensure accurate processing of transactions and updates while collaborating with staff to deliver a seamless, mission-driven

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Previous customer service, hospitality, sales, membership, nonprofit, or community-facing experience preferred.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification required within 60 days of hire, or within the timeframe established by the YMCA.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment by greeting members and guests promptly, learning names, initiating conversation, and demonstrating genuine interest in their YMCA experience.
• Build meaningful relationships with members and connect them to other YMCA resources that support their goals and belonging.
• Communicate the YMCA mission, charitable purpose, programs, and community impact in a natural and engaging way.
• Conduct cause-driven tours for prospective members by learning about the individual or family and connecting interests to YMCA programs.
• Explain membership options, financial assistance, programs, services, and member benefits; assist joining process.
• Engage current members to strengthen connection, satisfaction, and retention.
• Promote awareness of the YMCA Annual Campaign and other initiatives.
• Provide accurate, timely, courteous service in person, by phone, and through approved channels.
• Process membership transactions, registrations, payments, and account updates accurately.
