Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Huntsville is seeking Welcome Center Staff to greet members, guests and prospective members, fostering a warm, inclusive experience aligned with the YMCA mission.

You will learn member needs, connect people to programs, explain membership options, process transactions, and support member growth and retention in a busy front-desk environment.

Strong communication, empathy, teamwork, and a commitment to service are essential as you represent the Y in person and by phone.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification required within 60 days of hire.
• Previous customer service, hospitality, sales, membership, nonprofit or community-facing experience preferred.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests promptly to create a warm, inclusive environment.
• Build meaningful relationships and connect members to programs, staff, volunteers, and resources.
• Explain membership options, financial assistance, programs, services, and benefits; assist through joining.
• Engage current members to strengthen connection, satisfaction, and retention.
• Promote awareness of YMCA campaigns and initiatives to expand access and impact.
• Provide courteous service in person, by phone, and through approved channels; process transactions accurately.
• Maintain a clean, professional welcome center and lobby; follow safety and confidentiality procedures.
• Collaborate with branch staff to ensure a consistent member experience.
