Job summary

Sunward Federal Credit Union in Albuquerque is seeking an entry-level Financial Services Consultant 1 who delivers friendly, accurate service while processing routine member transactions and supporting branch activity.

In addition to routine transactions, this role includes entry-level sales goals and proactive outreach to deepen member relationships. Training focuses on deposit accounts, consumer loans, and teller transactions, with coaching to develop skills over time.

Qualifications

• Prior customer service experience required in financial or retail settings.
• Exposure to sales or service in a goal-oriented environment is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of financial services concepts and digital banking tools.

Responsibilities

• Identify member needs and recommend products/services to strengthen relationships; refer complex needs to specialists.
• Meet branch sales goals through needs-based conversations and proactive outreach to leads.
• Provide friendly, accurate service during routine transactions and basic account maintenance.
• Open new memberships and standard deposit accounts in accordance with policies.
• Support consumer loan origination and servicing following procedures and regulations.
• Follow workflows to ensure accurate account openings and disclosures; escalate exceptions.
• Educate members on digital banking tools and self-service options.
• Support lobby management and schedule appointments with staff.
• Perform teller and platform functions with accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Adhere to BSA/AML, OFAC, and privacy requirements; escalate questions as needed.
• Participate in training and coaching to build skills in service delivery and product knowledge.
• Work with team and refer members to mortgage/investments/business services when needed.
