Medicare Sales Agent

Location: Monterey County, California

ABOUT THE POSITION & TEAM

We have four opportunities to join the Alliance as a Medicare Sales Agent in the Medicare Administration Department. The Medicare Administration team at the Alliance is small but dedicated. This team works cross-functionally, and the Alliance is launching a D-SNP program effective January 1, 2026. As part of a newly formed Medicare Sales team, this role offers the opportunity to influence sales operations, outreach strategy, and member experience from the ground up. The Medicare Sales Agent will split time between field engagement (presentations, tabling, events) and telephonic outreach, with periodic travel within service counties (Mariposa, Merced, Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz).

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
  1. Increase membership in the Alliance Medicare D-SNP program through direct sales and marketing to dual eligible, Medicare/Medi-Cal recipients.
  2. Develop a sales network to generate leads and outreach opportunities.
  3. Support Medicare Sales Department activities and programs.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
  1. Consultative sales skills, prioritizing member needs and plan fit.
  2. Background or interest in Medicare sales.
  3. Ability to communicate complex products clearly to diverse audiences.
  4. Experience with CRM tools, lead nurturing, and follow-up.
  5. Professional, collaborative communication style, building relationships with members and teams.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Knowledge of:
    • The Medicare program and regulations
    • CMS regulations related to Medicare sales
    • Sales techniques in a regulated industry
  • Ability to:
    • Learn all Alliance Medicare and Medi-Cal products and provider networks
    • Identify and qualify prospective members
    • Assess insurance needs and recommend coverage
    • Execute sales strategies and meet goals
  • Education & Experience:
    • License to sell Accident and Health or Sickness insurance within 3 months of hire, maintained thereafter
    • Current AHIP certification within 3 months of hire
    • Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or related, with 5+ years in sales or a related field (or 9+ years of experience in lieu of degree)
OTHER INFORMATION
  • Hybrid work environment; remote interviews via Microsoft Teams.
  • Attendance at quarterly events or meetings expected.
  • In-office or community presence may be required, details during interview.

The full compensation range varies by location:

Zone 1 (Monterey, San Benito, Santa Cruz):

$66,000 - $105,602 USD

Zone 2 (Mariposa, Merced):

$60,060 - $96,096 USD
