Medicare Sales Agent

Location: Mariposa County, California; Merced County, California; Monterey County, California; San Benito County, California; Santa Cruz County, California

ABOUT THE POSITION & TEAM

We have four opportunities to join the Alliance as a Medicare Sales Agent in the Medicare Administration Department. The Medicare Administration team at the Alliance is small but mighty! Consisting of just a handful of talented and dedicated individuals, this team works cross-functionally. The Alliance is standing up a D-SNP program effective January 1, 2026. As part of a newly formed Medicare Sales team, this role offers the opportunity to influence sales operations, outreach strategy, and member experience from the ground up. The Medicare Sales Agent position will split time between field-based engagement (presentations, tabling, events) and telephonic outreach.

This role will require periodic travel within Alliance service counties (Mariposa, Merced, Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz).

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Increasing membership in the Alliance Medicare D-SNP program through direct sales and marketing of Alliance Medicare products to dual-eligible, Medicare/Medi-Cal recipients within the assigned service area.
  • Developing a sales network to generate leads and provide outreach opportunities.
  • Supporting Medicare Sales Department activities and programs.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Hmong.
  • Consultative sales skills focusing on member needs and plan fit rather than just making a sale.
  • Background or genuine interest in Medicare sales.
  • Ability to communicate complex products simply for diverse audiences.
  • Experience with CRM tools, lead nurturing, and follow-up.
  • Collaborative and professional communication style, building productive relationships.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Knowledge of:
    • The Medicare program and related regulations.
    • CMS regulations related to Medicare sales.
    • Sales principles and practices in a highly regulated industry.
  • Ability to:
    • Quickly develop in-depth knowledge of Alliance Medicare and Medi-Cal products and networks.
    • Identify and qualify prospective members accurately.
    • Assess insurance needs and recommend coverage.
    • Execute sales strategies and meet program goals.
  • Education and Experience:
    • Within three months of hire, possess and maintain a license to sell Accident and Health or Sickness insurance issued by the California Department of Insurance.
    • Within three months of hire, possess and maintain current AHIP certification.
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field, with at least five years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER INFORMATION

  • Hybrid work environment; remote interviews via Microsoft Teams.
  • Attendance at quarterly company-wide or department meetings may be required.
  • In-office or community presence may be needed based on business needs, discussed during interviews.

The full compensation range varies by location:

  • Zone 1 (Bay Area, Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Diego): $66,000 - $105,602 USD
  • Zone 2 (Fresno, Bakersfield, Central Valley, Eastern California, Eureka): $60,060 - $96,096 USD
