UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Medical Coder to support IPA providers with ICD-10 coding education and CMS guideline adherence. The role focuses on training clinical documentation for accurate health profiles and improving patient outcomes.

The position requires 1+ year of coding experience, a coding certification, and ability to travel up to 50% for chart retrievals. Location is Las Vegas, with a Monday–Friday schedule and shifts within 7am–5pm PST.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA, or RN/LPN with plan to obtain coding certification within 12 months of hire.
• 1+ year of ICD-10 coding experience.
• Access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform concurrent reviews and targeted chart or HEDIS retrievals.
• Communicate coding audits and CMS guidelines to providers to ensure compliance.
• Conduct coding reviews through Internal System.
• Retrieve records routinely.
• Collaborate with leaders to identify needs and generate solutions.
