Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Medical Coder to support IPA providers with ICD-10 coding education and CMS documentation guidelines. You will train clinical documentation skills to improve health profiles and outcomes for members.

The role involves concurrent reviews, coding audits, records retrieval, and collaboration with clinicians and leaders to address emerging needs while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Coding Certification from AAPC or AHIMA or RN/LPN with plan to certify within 12 months.
• 1+ years of coding experience in ICD-10 coding.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a coding and documentation resource with concurrent reviews and targeted chart or HEDIS retrievals.
• Communicate coding audit findings and CMS/Guidelines updates to providers.
• Perform coding reviews through Internal System and routine records retrieval.
• Collaborate with leaders to identify needs and craft solutions.
• Translate concepts into practical coding practices.
