This role involves performing testing in the Molecular Microbiology Lab, ensuring the quality and accuracy of patient results.

Hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (rotating holidays)

Additional acceptable certifications: MB (ASCP), M (ASCP)

Responsibilities

• Investigate issues with equipment, test results, specimens, and workflow.
• Participate in teams or special projects/assignments.
• Teach Clinical Laboratory Science students and Pathology residents; train new employees; serve as a technical resource.
• Perform quality control and equipment maintenance.
• Conduct routine and specialized tests, observe reactions, and record data.
• Prepare specimens, reagents, solutions, and filters as needed.
• Report results to healthcare providers and discuss findings.
• Review test results for accuracy and correct errors promptly.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree; must meet eligibility to sit for MT exam within 12 months of hire.
• Certification must be obtained within one year of becoming exam eligible.
• No prior experience required.

• Salary Range: $26.59 - $38.23 per hour, based on experience and internal equity
