Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center, Hartford, CT, part of Trinity Health Of New England, is seeking a Full-time Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Automated Lab Team. You will perform and report a wide range of routine and highly complex analyses across multiple lab sections, directly impacting patient diagnosis and care.

This 40-hour Day Shift position offers generous shift differentials and comprehensive benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology required.
• MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP or eligible to take certification exam within first year.

Responsibilities

• Perform and report a wide range of routine and highly complex analyses across multiple lab sections.
• Ensure operation and maintenance of analyzers and lab equipment, including calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Support patient diagnosis and treatment decisions through accurate laboratory results.

Join a team where your expertise drives diagnosis, innovation, and teaching. As a key member of our clinical laboratory, you will perform and report a wide range of routine and highly complex analyses across multiple lab sections—directly impacting patient diagnosis, treatment decisions, and clinical outcomes.

What you will do:

• Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.

• Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic techniques and procedures

• Ensures operation of analyzers and all laboratory equipment by calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Position Hours:

• 40 hours, Day Shift, rotating wknds/holidays

Minimum Requirements:

• BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology

• MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP. Or must be eligible to take Certification exam and achieve certification within the first year of employment.
