Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT is seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to join our fast‑paced laboratory team. You will perform high‑complexity testing and contribute to delivering high‑quality patient care in a mission‑driven environment.

The role is full‑time, night shift, with rotating weekends/holidays. Requirements include a BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology and MT-ASCP/MLT-ASCP eligibility.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology (minimum)
• MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP, or eligible to take Certification exam within first year

Responsibilities

• Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.
• Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic techniques and procedures
• Ensures operation of analyzers and all laboratory equipment by calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT is seeking a talented Laboratory Technologist to join our dynamic, mission-driven team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in delivering high‑quality patient care by performing high‑complexity testing in a fast‑paced hospital laboratory.

What you will do:

• Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.

• Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic techniques and procedures

• Ensures operation of analyzers and all laboratory equipment by calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Position Hours:

• 40 hours, Night Shift, rotating wknds/holidays

Minimum Requirements:

• BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology

• MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP. Or must be eligible to take Certification exam and achieve certification within the first year of employment.
