Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT, part of Trinity Health Of New England, is seeking a Medical Technologist to join our fast-paced laboratory team. You will perform high-complexity testing and contribute to accurate patient care during night shifts.

This full-time role requires a BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology, and MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP certification (or eligibility within the first year). We offer competitive benefits and shift differentials.

Qualifications

• MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP certification, or eligibility to pursue within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.
• Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic techniques and procedures.
• Ensures operation of analyzers and all laboratory equipment by calibrating, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment inventories.

Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT is seeking a talented Laboratory Technologist to join our dynamic, mission-driven team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in delivering high‑quality patient care by performing high‑complexity testing in a fast‑paced hospital laboratory.

What you will do:

• Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.

• Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic techniques and procedures

• Ensures operation of analyzers and all laboratory equipment by calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Position Hours:

• 40 hours, Night Shift, rotating wknds/holidays

Minimum Requirements:

• BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology

• MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP. Or must be eligible to take Certification exam and achieve certification within the first year of employment.
