Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division Harbor Light Detroit is seeking a dedicated healthcare professional to assist the Site Administrator with daily operations of the medical department while continuing to provide bedside clinical support.

Responsibilities include managing inquiries about admissions, overseeing pre-admission screenings, coordinating detox admissions/discharges, maintaining medical records, and supporting the Medical Director and PA in delivering patient care

Qualifications

  • Must have an active Practical Nurse (PN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Experience in substance abuse preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Site Administrator with day-to-day operations of the medical department.
  • Provide medical healthcare provider coverage and services.
  • Manage inquiries regarding information, referrals, and admissions.
  • Conduct pre-admission screenings of potential clients for detoxification services.
  • Schedule detoxification admissions/discharges and complete required medical documents.
  • Verify that medical charts are closed properly and maintain records daily.
  • Coordinate with Medical Director/Physician’s Assistant for patient care.

Together, we can make a difference. SummaryAssist the Site Administrator with the day-to-day operations of the medical department, while still serving in the medical healthcare provider role. Primary Duties And Responsibilities
  • Manage all inquiries with regards to information, referral, and/or possible admission
  • Conduct pre-admission screenings of potential clients for detoxification services
  • Schedule detoxification admissions/discharges to detoxification and residential programs, including completion of all required medical documents
  • Review all detoxification protocol applications
  • Verification that medical charts have been closed properly
  • Provide coverage for call-off’s and no-show’sConduct ADIA admissions/discharge for detoxification clients
  • Create monthly medical staff schedule
  • Schedule monthly team meeting with the Physician’s Assistant and/or Medical Director
  • Conduct staff training for new medical employees and notify current employees of any changes in day-to-day procedures
  • Prepare order and inventory of medical supplies with assistance of medical staff
  • Take appropriate action as directed by Medical Director to ensure clients medical stability and in cases emergency facilitate assistance per Harbor Light protocol
  • Assist Medical Director, Physician’s Assistant, and/or designate in the provision of medical services
  • Ensure all records, charts, logs and all other pertinent data for medical unit are maintained on a daily basis
Required Qualifications
  • Must have and maintain a current valid Practical Nurse (PN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Experience in substance abuse preferred
